Meet Dr. Gary B. Walters

Dr. Gary Walters is one of Ozaukee County’s most experienced and longest established optometric practices.

Education & Background

After completing his optometric education at Indiana University’s School of Optometry, he was selected onto a team of young, energetic educators as a part of Indiana University’s teaching faculty. Their task was to help change the scope of optometry as a profession, from a physical science to the more modern-day medical profession it has become.

Today, because of that team’s efforts, optometry and surgical ophthalmology work hand in hand as essentially one profession, equally.

Today’s Practice

Following those invaluable years at Indiana University, Dr. Walters brought that experience and knowledge with him to Wisconsin to begin and carry on his Ozaukee EyeCare practice, where his patients have benefited for over 40 years.

Continuous Education

Each year, Dr. Walters travels to Atlanta to attend SECO, a 5-day conference for eye care professional education. While at SECO, considered the best optometric educational conference in the country, Dr. Walters attends over 30 hours of classes each year, keeping up to date and well beyond the requirements to stay current with all aspects of modern vision care.
